Day 2 of Insanity Workout: Plyometric Cardio Circuit

helgaholic:

Plyometrics, according to Wikipedia:

Plyometrics (also known as “plyos”) is a type of exercise training designed to produce fast, powerful movements, and improve the functions of the nervous system, generally for the purpose of improving performance in sports. Plyometric movements, in which a muscle is loaded and then contracted in rapid sequence, use the strength, elasticity and innervation of muscle and surrounding tissues to jump higher, run faster, throw farther, or hit harder, depending on the desired training goal. Plyometrics is used to increase the speed or force of muscular contractions, providing explosiveness for a variety of sport-specific activities.

It’s a 40+ minute workout and I watched the first ten minutes of it after yesterday’s Fit Test (in which I did really badly =/). It’s basically non-stop cardio and you go faster and faster and faster with each ~set. I didn’t even stick around to see what the rest of the workout is like.

You’re going to have to peel me off the floor tonight.

Holy crap! Insanity Workout will literally make you INSANE! We applied this program to our Rowing Team..at first we were like owkaaay, but come third set of level fucken one, I find myself cursing those cigarettes for my weak lungs. Ghademmet! It ate all the oxygen out of me. And so, the next day, I was completely immobilized and ditched work for a full bedrest at home. We can do THIS. :)
